Boomy

Non-musicians who want an original song for a video or project without composing anything themselves.

Boomy generates a complete original song from a style selection rather than a text prompt, aimed at people with no musical background who want a usable track rather than a composition tool to learn. The company states its users have created over 22 million songs, which if taken at face value is a striking volume for a product most people have not heard of.

Free lets you create and save up to 25 songs with basic editing tools, but explicitly blocks downloads and commercial use. That is a meaningful limitation: Free is for trying the generation quality, not for getting a usable file out of it.

The commercial rights are what you are actually paying for

Creator at $9.99 a month, discounted from $14.99, is where downloads and commercial use both switch on: 25 WAV downloads a month and permission to distribute finished songs to streaming platforms. Pro at $29.99, discounted from $39.99, raises that to 250 downloads a month with unlimited song saves.

The pricing structure makes the product’s real value clear: it is not selling song generation, which the free tier already does, it is selling the right to actually use what you generate. If commercial rights are not something you need, staying on Free costs nothing and does the creative part just fine.

Where to be careful

AI-generated music and copyright is an unsettled area generally, and rights vary by platform and jurisdiction. Read Boomy’s own terms on ownership and originality before assuming a generated song is entirely free of complication for commercial release, particularly for distribution to streaming platforms where originality claims get scrutinised.

There is no API, so this is a product to use directly rather than to build into a pipeline generating music at scale.
