Andi is a search assistant that answers directly instead of handing back a page of links. Ask it something and it responds in a sentence or two with sources attached, styled closer to a conversation than a results page.

The pitch, stated plainly on the homepage, is accuracy without ads, spam or tracking. That is a claim every search product makes about itself, but Andi’s business model at least does not obviously contradict it: there is no paid tier, so there is no visible reason to weight results toward a sponsor.

It is free, and there is nothing hidden behind that

No pricing page exists on the site, and no paid plan is referenced anywhere in the product. That is unusual enough to be worth double-checking, and after looking, the honest answer is that Andi appears to be entirely free to use, available as a browser extension and a standalone app.

How a fully free consumer product with no visible advertising sustains itself long-term is a fair question to ask of any tool in this position, Andi included. The company does not publish anything on that point, so it stays a genuine unknown rather than something we can resolve by reading the site.

Where it fits

It suits quick factual questions better than deep research. Getting a direct, sourced answer to something simple is faster than scanning ten results, and citing sources is the detail that separates it from a search engine that just summarises the top result without telling you where the summary came from.

The product also understands a handful of direct commands, such as opening a specific site or playing music from a request, which pushes it slightly toward a general assistant rather than a pure search tool.

Where to be careful

There is no API, so this is a product to use directly rather than one to build on. For anything requiring verifiable, citable research at depth, cross-check important answers rather than treating a conversational summary as a primary source.
