Adobe Podcast is a browser tool for making recorded speech sound better. Enhance Speech strips background noise and echo, and it is the feature everything else is built around. The rest, recording, transcription, editing and captioning, grew out from there.

Nothing is downloaded. That matters more than it sounds, because the usual alternative to fixing a bad recording is a desktop audio editor and the knowledge to drive it. Here it is one upload.

Recording and editing, not just cleanup

Studio records solo or with remote guests, capturing everyone as individual 16-bit 48k WAV tracks. Critically, it does that even when someone’s connection is poor, because the audio is captured locally rather than reconstructed from the stream. That single design decision is what separates it from recording an interview over a video call.

Editing works from the transcript. Adobe uses the same transcription engine as Premiere Pro, and you cut, copy and paste audio the way you would edit a document. For spoken-word content that is considerably faster than working a waveform, and it is the feature most likely to change how you work rather than just improve an output.

Alongside that sit music removal, automatic captions for social video, and a library of royalty-free intros, outros, transitions and beds.

What Free actually covers

Free is more than a demo. Enhance Speech works on audio files up to 500 MB and 30 minutes, capped at an hour of enhanced speech a day. Studio projects can run to 30 minutes with 2 downloads a day, carrying Adobe Podcast branding.

The limits bite in specific places. Video is not supported at all on Free, there is no bulk upload, and you cannot adjust enhancement strength, so you take whatever the default processing gives you. Premium raises files to 1 GB and 2 hours, allows 4 hours of enhanced speech a day, removes download limits and branding, adds speaker-separated original recordings, and unlocks strength adjustment and custom audiogram themes.

Where to be careful

Adobe does not publish what Premium costs. The plans page lays out the feature comparison in full and then offers a 30-day free trial button instead of a price. You cannot weigh it against an alternative without starting a signup, which is a real friction point and worth knowing before you invest time in the free tier.

Premium is also stated to include premium features on Adobe Express, which suggests it is bundled with a wider Adobe subscription rather than sold standalone. Confirm what you are actually buying before subscribing.

There is no public API, so this stays a tool you open rather than a service you automate.
